
Information and Communications Technology (ICT) is now part of the educational experience worldwide and regarded as a new ‘literacy’ alongside reading, writing and numeracy. ICT department introduces learners, typically aged 5 to 14 years, to the key ICT applications they need to achieve computer literacy and to understand the impact of technology on our daily lives.
Why Maseru Prep ICT? Maseru Prep School offers international education programmes and qualifications for learners aged 5 to 12. We are part of Maseru Cambridge Assessment, a department of ICT in Maseru Prep School, trusted for excellence in education. Our qualifications are recognised by the world’s universities and employers.
Maseru Prep ICT is designed to introduce learners to the key ICT applications they need to use, in order to acquire that literacy and to understand the impact of technology on our daily lives. The subject provides a framework in which ICT competence and practical skills can be developed within an environment that is appropriate for the age of the learners. It also provides a structured scheme of assessment. Modules can be delivered according to the needs of each learning situation – across the school or as a separate course of study. At each stage of assessment, learners will use ICT to:

Welcome to our Computing (KS1) Section! This section covers Computing (known as Information & Communications Technology, or ICT).
• Navigation Skills ICT KS1. Pupils are able to learn valuable computer navigation skills suitable for KS1, ages 5-7 years. They develop mouse, keyboard, scrollbar and drag and drop skills in the classroom. Parents looking for fun ways to introduce their child to the computer at home will find this subject very much useful to help.
Cheese Sniffer Interactive
An ICT game to support directional and ICT skills. Played in pairs or as a group game (ask one player to instruct two others at the board) – using the commands: up, down, left, right. Encourage students to mental planning of routes to the nearest cheeses.
Microsoft paint Children use this program to draw and paint shapes, combine shapes to make drawings.

Internet Research KS2 ICT. Here pupils improve their search engine skills using useful research resources. Great for children and adults wanting to improve their computer skills. Here pupils do researches on their classroom subjects and other education-related issues.
Word Processing KS2 ICT. Pupils use word processing applications like Microsoft Word to produce typed, edited and formatted documents. They produce articles about different events and subjects in this school.
Word Processing KS2 ICT. Pupils also learn about spreadsheet. They enter values, text and formulas to create an electronic spreadsheet. They learn about different formulae and functions used to perform calculations.
